Home >>Python Programs >Python Program to Add Two Matrix
In this example, we will see a Python program to add two matrices. The matrixes are a rectangular array of numbers, symbols or expressions that are arranged in the form of rows and columns. In Python, matrices can be implemented as nested list. Each element of the matrix is treated as a row.
Example :
X = [[1,2,3],
[4,5,6],
[7,8,9]]
Y = [[11,12,13],
[14,15,16],
[17,18,19]]
result = [[0,0,0],
[0,0,0],
[0,0,0]]
# iterate through rows
for i in range(len(X)):
# iterate through columns
for j in range(len(X[0])):
result[i][j] = X[i][j] + Y[i][j]
for r in result:
print(r)
