PHP substr_compare() function is used to compare two strings from a pre-defined start position upto a specified length. It is binary-safe and optionally case-sensitive.
Syntax:
substr_compare($string1, $string2, $start, $length, $case);
Parameter | Description |
---|---|
string1 | This is a required parameter. This parameter defines the first string to compare. |
string2 | This is a required parameter. This parameter defines the second string to compare. |
Start | This is a required parameter. This parameter defines where to start comparing in string1. |
Length | This is an optional parameter. This parameter defines how much of string1 to compare. |
Case | This is an optional parameter. This parameter holds a boolean value that specifies whether or not to perform a case-sensitive compare:
