Mobile Cloud Computing

Cloud Computing offers those smartphones with rich Internet media service, requires less processing and less power efficiency. With respect to Mobile Cloud Computing (MCC), processing takes place in the cloud , data is stored in the cloud, and the mobile devices are used as display screens.

Today smartphones are employed by combining applications that access web content with rich cloud services. This web services are cloud based.

Several Smartphone operating systems are available, such as Android from Google, iOS from Apple, RIM BlackBerry, Symbian, and Mobile Phone from Windows. Each of these platforms supports applications from third parties which are deployed in the cloud.

Architecture

MCC includes four types of cloud resources:

  • Distant mobile cloud
  • Distant immobile cloud
  • Proximate mobile computing entities
  • Proximate immobile computing entities
  • Hybrid

Issues

Despite significant mobile cloud computing developments, many issues remain unsorted, such as:

Emergency Efficient Transmission

Information should be transmitted frequently between the cloud and the mobile devices.

Architectural Issues

Mobile cloud computing is required because of the heterogeneous environment to make the architectural neutral.

Live VM Migration

Trying to migrate an application that is resource-intensive to cloud, and executing it via Virtual Machine, is challenging.

Mobile Communication Congestion

The workload to allow smooth communication between the cloud and mobile devices has been increased due to the continuous increase in demand for mobile cloud services.

Security and Privacy

This is one of the biggest problems as mobile users exchange their personal information over the cloud.
