For your project, materials offer a lot of built-in modules. In Angular 7, features such as autocomplete, datepicker, slider, menu, grids and toolbar are eligible for use with materials.
We need to import the package for use with materials. Angular 2 also has all the features described above but they are available as part of the @angular / core module. Materials module with a separate module @angular/materials has been made available from Angular 4. This lets the user import only the materials needed for their project.
You need to install two packages to continue using the materials: materials and cdk. For advanced features the material components depend on the animation module. Thus you need the same animation kit, @angular / animations. The package was revised in the preceding chapter. We have already installed @angular / cdk packages for virtual and drag-drop module in previous chapters.
The command to add materials to your project follows-
npm install --save @angular/material
Now let's look at the.json package. @angular / material is installed, and @angular / cdk.

Let us now add the material-css support in styles.css.

Uses < mat-menu></mat-menu > to add a line. The file and Save As things are added under the mat-menu to the button. A key button has been added to Menu. By using [matMenuTriggerFor]="menu "and using the menu with # in < mat-menu > the reference of the same is given to the < mat-menu >.

To add sidenav, we need the container <mat-sidenav></mat-sidenav-container>. < mat-sidenav></mat-sidenav > is added to the container as a child. Another div has been added which triggers the sidenav using (click)="sidenav.open)

Let us now use the materials to add a datepicker. To add a datepicker, the modules used to show the datepicker need to be import.
